Abstract

Green mould diseases caused by Trichoderma spp. result in considerable yield losses in several species of cultivated and medicinal mushrooms. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of infestation of Trichoderma isolates on yield of Pleurotus sajor-caju, P. flabellatus and P. florida. The green mould disease in oyster mushroom caused by Trichoderma harzianum resulted in considerable inhibition of growth of mycelium and fruiting bodies of oyster mushroom lowering the yield substantially. Carbendazim was found to be the best fungicide against the infection of green mould disease of oyster mushrooms.
