Abstract

A four-year-old female non-descript cow was presented with a history of accidental ingestion of a mathematical compass. All the vital parameters were within the physiological range. Radiographic examination confirmed the presence of a radiopaque foreign body inside the reticulum. Emergency laparo-rumenotomy was performed under proximal paravertebral nerve block and the compass was removed, followed by closure of the laparotomy incisions as per standard operating procedures. Post-operative medications and fluid therapy were administered for five days. The skin sutures were removed on the 10th postoperative day, and the animal showed a fruitful recovery.
