Inland Fisheries Society of India (IFSI) and its journal, Journal of the Inland Fisheries Society of India (JIFSI) are committed to promote fisheries welfare and uphold the integrity of the scientific record. Any work that might degrade an ecosystem and conservation status of any aquatic animal species will not be published by IFSI/JIFSI.

IFSI and JIFSI desirea high standard of integrity and ethical responsibilities of its authors. Experiment using live aquatic animal must not threaten conservation status of the species, and should follow national/provincial policies and guidelines. A statement indicating compliance of relevant laws and guidelines for care and use of animals and their humane handling should be incorporated in the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript. The journal may ask for approval of the ethics committee or equivalent documents for animal experimentation, if required.

Authors should communicate only the original work which has not been published nor is under consideration/review process for publication elsewhere. Authors should refrain from falsification, fabrication, inappropriatemanipulation of results, plagiarism (including own work) and illegal copying of other works. IFSI/JIFSI considers that researchers should submit raw data (including metadata) presented in the manuscript to relevant public/national/international database, and may need to share on specific requests. Every author should have significant contribution in the work and the corresponding author acts in full consent and accountability of all the authors of the manuscript. The authors should also mention conflict of interests, and funding source for carrying out the research work.
