Abstract
The present research work showed the comparative analysis of Gonado Somatic Index (GSI) and Dobriyal Index (DI) used to determine the sexual maturity of cyprinid fish Puntius conchonius (Ham.-Buch.). Dobriyal Index has been used by different workers in India and abroad and reported to be more effective than GSI. In the present study too the DI showed more accuracy than GSI when correlated with other observation.
