Abstract
An attempt was made to optimise the dose of Ovatide, a GnRh analogue with dopamine antagonist, in spawning induction of ornamental fish Esomus danricus. Various doses (0.4ml, 0.5ml, 0.6ml and 1ml kg-1 body wt.) of Ovatide were injected intramuscularly to the spawners. A dose of 1ml kg-1 body wt. of the hormone was found optimum for obtaining eggs and milt by stripping method in E. danricus.
