Abstract
A. testudineus, is ideal for waste water aquaculture due to air-breathing habit and ability to live in water with low oxygen content. As A. testudineus does not spawn in confinement (Banerjee and Prasad, 1974), it needs to be induced artificially. The objectives of the present work were: a) to induce spawning in A. testudineus by hormonal intervention using ovaprim; b) to determine time taken for spawning and hatching and c) to assess the efficacy of hormone dosage on ovulation success, fertilization rate and hatching within 24hours of fertilization in A. testudineus.References
