Abstract
The mighty Brahmaputra which flows through Assam is the most important source of fishery activities in the state. The Brahmaputra is one of the largest rivers of the world and provides ample scope to the fishermen of Assam to operate various types of fishing crafts and gear. Large number of seine nets, dragnets, gill nets and lift nets are operated in the river in addition to hooks and lines, fishing traps, cast nets, drag nets and other miscellaneous fishing gear.References
