The Inland Fisheries Society of India (IFSI) is one of the oldest scientific societies in India in the realm of fisheries and it focuses on promoting fisheries research and development in Asia. The Society has a long history of organizing mega scientific events such as National Seminars, Symposia and Conferences on a regular basis and "IFO-2022" is the latest among them. The 1st Indian Fisheries Outlook - Priming Indian Fisheries in Attaining Sustainable Development Goals (IFO- 2022) was held at ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore during 22-24 March, 2022. The conference dealt successfully with important fisheries and aquaculture related topics having present relevance and provided an inter-disciplinary forum of interactions among experts, researchers, consultants, students, other stakeholders to exchange ideas, share information, build common platforms, and formulate a
consensus on how best fisheries and aquaculture sector helps in achieving sustainable development goals.
