Bioaccumulation Factor, Fish species, River GangaAbstract
The river Ganga is home to a diverse group of fish species and the fish community structure varies with the different river stretches. The present study was targeted to generate base line information on the bioaccumulation factors of five metals viz., Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and Iron in different fish species in the upper stretch of River Ganga with less anthropogenic pollution. The values, therefore, represent the baseline for future anthropogenic activities that may affect the change in metal profile in fish species in this part of Gangetic aquatic system.
