Boron is a vital micronutrient that directly influences growth, yield, and quality in oilseed crops such as Brassica nigra and Sinapis alba. Assessing native boron availability and its effect on Brassica nigra and Sinapis alba oilseed crops performance under the agroclimatic conditions of the Vaishali region is essential for supporting sustainable nutrient management. This study will help to compare the productivity of these oil crops in relation to varying soil boron levels across the Vaishali region of Bihar, India. Soil samples were collected in triplicate over two years (October-January) from five blocks of Vaishali district and one block of Patna district to determine inherent boron availability. The findings reveal a strong correlation between boron concentration and yield, with B. nigra showing greater adaptability to low boron conditions than S. alba. While optimal boron levels improved seed yield, excessive boron reduced productivity due to nutrient imbalance. Overall, boron management is crucial for sustainable cultivation of black and white mustard.
