A field experiment on the bio-efficacy of ready-mix insecticides against the castor capsule borer, Conogethes punctiferalis, infesting castor was carried out at the Main Oilseeds Research Station, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, during kharif 2021-22 and 2022-23. The results revealed that lowest per cent capsule damage found in chlorantraniliprole 10 + lambda-cyhalothrin 5 ZC @ 30g a.i./ha, which was statistically at par with novaluron 5.25 + emamectin benzoate 0.9 SC @ 46g a.i./ha and novaluron 5.25 + indoxacarb 4.5 SC @ 78g a.i./ha after three days of first spray. A more or less similar trend was also recorded at 7, 10, and 14 days after both the first and second sprays. The highest (3808 kg/ha) castor seed yield was recorded in the treatment of chlorantraniliprole 10 + lambda-cyhalothrin 5 ZC @ 30g a.i./ha which was statistically at par with novaluron 5.25 + emamectin benzoate 0.9 SC @ 46g a.i./ha (3782 kg/ha), novaluron 5.25 + indoxacarb 4.5 SC @ 78g a.i./ha and thiamethoxam 12.6 + lambda-cyhalothrin 9.5 ZC @ 44.20g a.i./ha (3715 kg/ha). In terms of economics, the highest net return (`42707/ha) recorded in treatment of chlorantraniliprole 10 + lambda-cyhalothrin 5 ZC @ 30g a.i./ha followed by the treatment novaluron 5.25% + emamectin benzoate 0.9 SC @ 46g a.i./ha (`41840/ha) and novaluron 5.25 + indoxacarb 4.5 SC @ 78g a.i./ha (`37861). However, considering the ICBR, thiamethoxam 12.6 + lambda-cyhalothrin 9.5 ZC @ 44.20g a.i./ha noted highest (1:19.28) ICBR followed by the treatment of profenofos 40 + cypermethrin 4 EC @ 440g a.i./ha (1:13.08) and chlorpyriphos 50 + cypermethrin 5 EC @ 550 g a.i./ha (1:11.07).
