Volume 65, Issue 2 (2026) of Annals of Arid Zone presents 24 contributions from researchers across leading national and international institutions, focusing on the ecological, biological, and economic significance of cold arid regions. The issue covers ecosystem services, climate change and water security, biodiversity and plant resources, microbial diversity and biotechnology, ecological processes and soil restoration, and pastoralism and livelihood systems. Collectively, the articles provide an integrated perspective on the functioning, conservation, and sustainable development of cold arid ecosystems, particularly those of the Trans-Himalaya and other global cold desert regions.
