Severity of citrus canker in major citrus growing areas acid lime growing regions of northern Karnataka

A roving survey was carried out in major affected areas ofVijayapur and Bagalkot districts. From the results obtained, it was clear that, leaves were more vulnerable to the attack by the disease as more disease severity is recorded on leaf than fruit irrespective of locations. Among the two districts surveyed, maximum disease intensity on leaf and fruit was recorded in Bagalkot district. Lowest intensity was recorded in Vijayapur district. Disease severity on fruits differed with that of incidence, indicating that acid lime in Vijayapur district suffered slightly more from the incidence on fruit than the Bagalkot district. Taluk wise incidence and severity of the disease resulted that maximum disease severity on both leaf and fruit was recorded in Indi taluk of Vijayapur district. On the contrary, BasavanaBagewaditaluk of Vijayapur district revealed the minimum disease intensity and incidence on both leaf and fruit.Downloads
