Investigations were made on the post harvest analysis of seeds produce of 2014-15 belonging to 16 commonly grown wheat varieties obtained from 13 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Over all incidence of Black point disease in seed samples ranged from 2.0 to 23.5%. Association of Alternaria alternata, Curvularia lunata, Cochliobolus sativus, Cladosporium cladosporioides was observed in seeds pretreated with NaOCl (1%), where as additional association of Fusariumoxysporum, Aspergillusniger, Aspergillus flavus, Rhizopus nigrecance, was recorded in untreated (non surface sterilized with sodium hypochlorite solution for 30 seconds) wheat seeds. Dominance of A. alternata (in the range of 45.0 to 67.0%) C. unata (2.0 to 11.5%) and C. sativus (2.0-18.5%) was confirmed.Among the seven most commonly fungicides used for seed treatment with Carboxin +Thiram (e.g. Vitavax Power @ 0.2%) was the most effective in elimination of fungi and enhancing seed germination and vigor.Downloads
