Mustard (Brassica juncea) is one of the major Rabi oilseed crops of India which occupies place, being next in importance to groundnut, both in area and production, containing 30 to 48 per cent oil. Among various diseases, white rust incited by Albugo candida (Pers. Ex. Lev.) Kuntz is an economically important and widely distributed disease throughout the world in mustard and other cruciferous crop. Keeping in the view its economic importance, the eight varieties/germplasms of mustard were screened for their reaction against white rust disease under natural epiphytotics during Rabi, 2014 on research farm of the Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, Latur. The results revealed that, out of eight varieties, none of them was resistant, two (Jagannath and PCR-10) were moderately resistant with mean disease severity 11.12 and 12.23%, respectively. Four (Jaikisan, MAUC-7, RH-8812, RH-30) were moderately susceptible with mean severity  20.98%, 23.34%, 19.78% and 21.56%, respectively and two (Varuna and Pusa bold) were susceptible with mean severity 26.42% and 28.44%, respectively.Downloads
