Abstract

Two new species of nematodes belonging to orders Rhabditida are described and illustrated. Panagrolaimus anfractuosus. n. sp. is characterized by having transversely annulated cuticle with fine longitudinal lines; three lateral lines; female reproductive system monodelphic, ovary convoluted; vulval lips protruded, posterior lip relatively bigger than anterior one and in male spicules with slightly distinct dorsal hump. Poikilolaimus gangulyi n. sp. is characterized in having smooth, loose cuticle, four lateral lines, stoma 1.6-2 times labial diameter long, excretory pore located at the junction of isthmus and basal bulb; rectum with inconspicuous rectal glands, oviduct connected gradually to ovoid spermatheca, compactly filled with rounded spermatozoa, uterus with four vaginal glands, few females with one egg in late embryonic stage, vagina with elliptical refractive pieces of muscles, vulval lips protruded, male spicules with rounded capitula and eight pairs of genital papillae, tail in both sexes cupola-shaped with small spike.
