Abstract

The present investigation pertaining to study of standardization of isolation distance for seed production of cumin was carried out at Department of Seed Technology, S. D. Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar and Seed Spices Research Station (SSRS), S. D. Agricultural University, Jagudan. Pollen contaminators with dominant genetic markers were sown during Rabi 2011-12 and Rabi 2012-13 to study out crossing percentage from all four directions. Results of grow out test of cumin progeny in Rabi 2013-14 revealed that there is no out crossing recorded (0 per cent) from all four directions with distance of 10 m, 20 m, 30 m, 40 m and 50 m by hairy seed cumin and white flower contaminators. So cumin seed production can be taken by keeping isolation distance of 10 m for certified, foundation and breeder seed production.
