A one year-old male Indian flapshell turtle was presented with the history of protrusion of prolapsed, inflamed oedematous massfrom the cloacal vent, accompanied by anorexia and no defecation for the past 10 hours. The faecal examination was negative for protozoa and nematode infections. On clinical examination, the mass was confirmed as cloacal prolapse. The prolapsed mass was cleaned and lubricated with lignocaine jelly and soframycin ointment. The mass was repositioned with the help of ear buds and retained by applying purse-string suture using polyamide suture around the perianal vent. Post-operative supportive treatment was provided for 5 days, and the animal was recovered without any complications.
