Abstract

This paper investigates optimal choice designs for models that include main effects and specified higher-order interaction effects. Existing optimal 
designs primarily focus on estimating all the main effects or all the two-factor interaction effects along with the main effects. However, in most 
practical choice experiments, only a limited number of two-factor and three-factor interactions are of substantive interest rather than the full set of 
possible interactions. Motivated by this practical consideration, we develop universally optimal choice designs that allow efficient estimation of main 
effects along with specified two- and three-factor interaction effects.
