Abstract
Ten mushroom species viz., Ganoderma lucidum, Schizophyllum commune, Daedoleopsis confragosa, Pleurotus ostreatus, Abortiporus biennis, Trichaptum biforme, Tephrocybe ambusta, Pycnoporus coccineus, Calvatia sculpta and Antrodiella semisupiforme screened in this study were good producer of exopolysaccharides (EPS) and intracellular polysaccharides (IPS) and Ganoderma lucidum was the best producer of polysaccharides among all the strains tested.
