Abstract

Mushrooms are marketed as either fresh or processed. General processing technologies include drying, canning or development of other mushroom products. Another category of mushroom products include supplements and medicinal products. In our country, all these categories are available in market in various forms of packaging but no standards for such products have been described. In the current advent, food safety becoming a concern, quality and safety standards are important and thus are needed to be established both as rules as well as guiding principles.
