Digestible energy of protein in blue gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus) feed
158 / 129
Abstract
The digestibility of various dietary components as protein sources for bluegourami (Trichogaster trichopterus) was studied using an inert marker in the
feed and collecting the feces by stripping. Each experimental diet consisted of a
different carbohydrate source (52%) plus 48% basal diet (21% soybean meal,
17% wheat meal plus 0.5% vitamins, 7% egg yolk, 1.5% guar and 1% chromic
oxide). Analysis of the diets showed that, in T. trichopterus, the digestibility of
proteins in fish meal was 91.7% and soybean meal, 87.7%. The digestibility of
energy from fish meal was 88.5% and from soybean meal, 80.4%
