Abstract

The study revealed higher root: shoot productivity in Dichanthium aristaturn Poir. compared to D. annulatum (Forsk.) Stapf. 'in all the habitats. The energy accumulation was too high in, D. aristatum. It was maximum at flowering stage in both the species. Number of tillers per plant contributed maximum towards productivity (18.86%) followed by plant height (7.95%) and leaves (2.98%).
