Abstract

In an experiment, on a cultivator's field, effective control of both under and above ground 8triga weed was obtained with 2,4-D, weedicides. Although increasing levels of nitrogen also reduced the incidence of Brigade infestation, this increased fertility was not as effective as the weedicide, It has been concluded tbat 2,4-D 2 kg/ha applied at the rate of 30 days after Bajra sowing on the surface of the' soil, and followed with a light irrigation, could be the answer to control this weed menace. Application of 2,4-D at the rate of 2 kg/ha also turned out to be most profitable treatment and gave a profit of Rs. 214/ha over control.
