Abstract

The toxicity of seven insecticides viz. endosulfan E. C., endrin E. C., malathion E. c., ' Nuvan E. C., carbaryl w. p., anthio E C. and carbofuran w.p. were studied against the grub, pupa and adult stages of the coccinellid beetle, Coccinella septempunctata L. It was observed that Nuvan (02 per cent), Endosulfan (0.1 per cent and Endrin (0.03) were comparatively safer insecticides against adult beetles. where as Anthio (0.2 per cent) was for both grub and adult stages. None of the insecticides were harmful to pupal stage of the beetle.
