Root Regulated Water Relationships and Growth of Groundnut Plants
74 / 9
Abstract
Kernel (seed) in the groundnut plants (Arachis hypogaea L.) size was found to regulate initial root and shoot development. The extent of root system was shown to condition plant water relationships and growth Variations caused due to initia I seedling vigour were observed to be enhanced under drought Uniform groundnut crop stand may be maintained by the use of uniform grade of kernels for sowing of the crop. This appears important for moisture stress tolerance and stabilization of yields.Downloads
