Since its establishment in 2013, 'Current Horticulture' has been a cornerstone publication in the field of horticultural science. Published by the Society for Horticultural Research and Development, the journal has played a pivotal role in advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration within the horticultural community. With its inaugural issue marking the beginning of a journey towards excellence, 'Current Horticulture' has consistently upheld a commitment to quality and innovation. Over the years, the journal has evolved into a platform where researchers, scientists, academicians, and stakeholders converge to share their latest findings, insights, and advancements in various facets of horticulture.

Current Horticulture (Print ISSN: 2347-7377; Online ISSN: 2455-7560), is a Peer Reviewed and Diamond Open Access Journal published since 2013. The journal is the official publication of the Society for Horticultural Research and Development (SHRD) and is published quarterly (four issues per year).

Current Horticulture publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research and review articles covering a wide range of topics in horticultural sciences.

The primary objective of Current Horticulture is to advance fundamental and applied research in horticultural sciences and to facilitate the dissemination of scientific knowledge among researchers, academicians, students, and industry stakeholders

Aims and Scope

Current Horticulture, an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, considers articles on all aspects of research on Horticultural crops.

  3. Commercial flower crops and ornamentals
  4. Spice crops
  5. Plantation crops
  6. Medicinal and aromatic plants
  7. Protected horticulture
  8. Post-harvest technology, management and processing of horticultural crops

The journal welcomes original research and review articles covering cultivation practices, crop improvement, genetics and genomics, post-harvest technology and management, biotechnology, food science, crop protection, nanotechnology applications, botany, taxonomy, physiology, biochemistry, extension education, and agricultural economics related to horticultural crops

The journal aims to provide an efficient and transparent peer-review process, with an average time of approximately 20 days to first decision and 65 days to final decision.

Current Horticulture has received a NAAS Score of 4.62, as per the latest NAAS Journal Ratings (2026) released by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi.

The journal is also indexed in CABI, enhancing its international visibility and accessibility within the global agricultural research community.
