Author Guidelines

The Indian Journal of Animal Production and Management (IJAPM) considers for publication original papers (not published or submitted for publication elsewhere) in the form of research articles, short communications and invited review articles . A signed Copyright Form regarding the same is to be uploaded separately along with the paper.

  • Metadata entry on the Submission page: Details of EACH author as it should appear on IJAPM website or Indexing sites should be entered in the online Submission page. This should include      (a) Name (no prefix; capitalize first letter; “.” after initials) eg. “Ramesh V.K., Suresh A. Kumar” (b) Sequence of names in the same order as in article   (c) Designation /Institution   (d) e-mail address
  • Manuscript: It has to be prepared as per the IJAPM Article Submission Guide. The manuscript should have the following components: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement (if any), References, Tables and Figures. Standard abbreviations should be used. The manuscript should be uploaded in the journal's website.
  • Page format: The manuscript should not exceed 8-10 pages. Use the appropriate page size (Letter), margins (top 1.45, bottom 1.48, left 2.33, right 2.33 cm), header (1.27 cm), footer (1.6 cm), font (Arial size 10), line spacing (1.15), Para spacing (0 pt before, 6 pt after)
  • Title Page: Should include the title of the paper and name (s) of the author (s) along with their institutional affiliation, and the contact details of the corresponding author. A short running title should be given separately at the bottom .
  • Abstract: Should highlight the important findings and conclusion written in a manner suitable for direct reproduction in abstracting journals. Max. 250 words.
  • Keywords: These need to be descriptive and capture the most important aspects of your paper, as they are used for indexing in databases and as search terms for readers. Include 3‑5 words, phrases or acronyms in lower case in order of importance.
  • Introduction: Should give appropriate background, clearly state the objectives and explain the hypothesis to be tested.
  • Materials and Methods: Should include the experimental procedures used. New methods should be described in detail, and for well-established methods, only references may be quoted.
  • Results and Discussion: Results should be presented in concise manner, avoiding data which is already given in the tables. Discussion should not repeat the results, but explain and interpret the data, giving comparison with relevant studies. 
  • Conclusions and recommendations (if any) should be based on supporting data.
  • References: Should be given on a separate page and must be strictly as per the APA 7 Reference Style; alphabetically sorted with 1.0 line spacing and 0.5 cm hanging indent
  • Tables: All Tables should be numbered and placed on a separate page at the end of the document (after References). Tables should be referred to in the text for appropriate placement during publishing. Format: font (Arial size 9), line spacing (1.0), No space before or after para, Row height (0.5-0.7 cm), Avoid usage of vertical borders and inside horizontal borders.
  • Figures: All Figures should be numbered and placed on a separate page at the end of the document (after Tables). Figures should be referred to in the text for appropriate placement during publishing.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • A scanned copy of the filled-in Copyright Form is ready for upload along with the article.
  • All authors have read and approved the manuscript for publication.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
