Economic appraisal of fish cultre: A case study from Gomati District in Tripura
Abstract
Fish cultivation has been recognised as an emerging enterprise in India particularly in North-eastern states like Tripura. It is considered to be an important economic activity for generating income and gainful employment of rural people in Tripura. The present study examined the economic viability of fish culture in Gomati District of Tripura and the results revealed that the enterprise is quite profitable which requires a huge investment. The study recommends extending more research and development in this sector to enhance the area and production for ensuring sustainable livelihood and income to the farmers of the state.Downloads
