Abstract
The effects of different feeding schedules on the growth of the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium lamarrei lamarroides were studied. Among the six feeding frequencies (once in 24, 12, 8, 6 and 4 hr) studied maximum growth was recorded when the feeding was three times in a day (6 hr frequency). The food conversion efficiency and muscle ratio of the prawns were also higher in 6 hrfrequency fed group. However, the condition factor was maximum in 4 and 8 hr groups.
