In the context of agricultural development, a major concern is to sustain and double the farmer’s income besides the need to double its production of food to meet the diversified and ever increasing demand. The better option for the above concerns could be the integrated farming systems. This system not only provides for the year-round income to the farmers but also ensures efficient utilization of available farm resources, increases unit productivity that are pre-requisite for sustainable livelihoods of small and marginal farmers. Concentrating on this concept, under YFA-Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Wanaparthy district, an intervention on integrated farming system (IFS) was undertaken to demonstrate successful realization of the basic objectives of (IFS) in the district. This paper showcases the results in the form of a case study of an IFS farmer in the district who has been able to produce quality edible products on account of recycling the byproducts of his different enterprises.Downloads
