Abstract

A field experiment entitled “Bioefficacy of sequential application of herbicides in direct sown rice†was conducted for two consecutive years (2015 -16 and 2016-17) at Agricultural College Farm, Bapatla. The experiment consisted of 14 treatments laid out in complete randomized block design with three replications. Results of the experiment revealed that pre emergence application of bensulfuron methyl @ 60 g a.i. ha-1 + pretilachlor with safener at 500 g a.i. ha-1fb post emergence application of azimsulfuron @ 20 g a.i. ha-1at 25 DAS fb post emergence application of metsulfuronmethyl and chlorimuron ethyl @ 4 g a.i. ha-1applied at 45 DAS was effective in controlling weeds as well as grain yield, straw yield in direct sown rice and is thus an effective alternative for hand weeding.
