Journal History

The first issue of the journal “Indian Phytopathology” was published in early 1948 with only 96 printed pages and such issues continued every six months till 1961. Since, 1962 four numbers are being published per volume. The presidential addresses and award lectures delivered during the annual meetings, are published as review articles, one in each number. The Society has developed a strict system for the review of manuscripts and discourages the publications of manuscripts based on the one years data, related to nutritional studies on micro-organisms without any relevance to pathogenecity, routine data on pectic/cellulolytic enzymes, micro-organisms associated with seed, laboratory evaluation of chemical and shortnotes. Articles are published within 6 months of its submission. The ratio of full papers to short notes has been reduced from 3:2 to 4:1 to encourage publication of elaborate and critical data.
