Abstract

Enhancement in dose of nitrogen and phosphorous application, decreased the incubation period, increased the disease severity of sheath blight with a reduced phenolic contents in inoculated rice plants. However, enhancement in dose of potassium and zinc, increased incubation period and quantity of phenols and decreased the disease severity. Application of sulphur, increased incubation period, phenolic contents and decreased disease severity. Recommended iron application, also increased the incubation period, enhanced the phenolic contents and decreased disease severity, followed by deficient and excess doses of iron.
