Abstract

An extensive survey was conducted during the kharif 2012 and 2013 for the record of natural yellow mosaic virus disease incidence of mungbeanin different varieties sown in the six Block of the Katni district and found that the variety K851 was most susceptible (35.56% and 29.71%) followed by TM99-37 and TM3. Mung variety PDM 139 had less disease incidence (1.53%and2.31%, respectively). On the basis of survey, most susceptible var. K851 was taken under demonstration during the kharif season of 2013 and 2014 for the management ofMung bean yellow virus (MYMV) disease. A set of insecticides tested and found that thiomethaxam was most effective in reducing the disease incidence (3.95 to 7.43%) in both the years 2013 and 2014 fallowed by imidacloprid(4.62 to 8.41%) and acetamiprid (6.01 to 9.41%) in comparison totrizophos(7.23 to 12.61%) and monocrotophos(7.49 to 11.41%). Thiomethaxam (125g/ha) treated plot showed best treatment tominimize the population of whitefly and intensity of MYMV disease resulting in maximum grain yield(13.13to13.84q/ha) followed by imidacloprid and acetamiprid, respectively. In control plot there was 29.78 to 34.63% disease incidence with 3.57 to 4.21q/ha yield.
