The Indian Veterinary Journal (popularly called as IVJ) has been published as a scientific journal for more than a Century. IVJ is the official organ of the Indian Veterinary Association (Reg. 96 of 1967), and the Journal was first issued in 1924 to disseminate the latest scientific findings and specific case reports in the veterinary and fisheries professions to teachers, researchers, and practising veterinarians.

Due to its international eminence and reputation, the Journal has secured a NAAS rating of 4.99, a relatively high rating among journals of animal and veterinary sciences in India, as of 2025, and has been widely recognised as an international journal. Every effort is being taken by the new team of Editorial Board and Editorial Committee of the Journal to improve the NAAS rate still higher by following relevant procedures and appropriate protocols to publish high-quality research papers, short communications, and case reports, besides disseminating scientific data and information required for the development of livestock, poultry and fisheries sub-sectors across the World to get indexed in international journal rating agencies. The Editorial Committee of the IVJ proudly announces that the authors, readers, teaching and scientific community, research scholars, and field veterinarians can now access the research papers, clinical articles, case reports, short communications and IVA news at https://epubs.icar.org.in/index.php/IVJ, after registering and logging in to this site. 

Hence, the scientific community, the research fraternity, and the field veterinarians working in the fields of veterinary, animal and fishery sciences are requested to submit their research outputs in terms of research papers, short communications, and case reports to the Indian Veterinary Journal for publication.
