Abstract

The study of farm machinery related accidents in Tamilnadu has been conducted encompassing different machineries, modes of accidents and the classification of accident victims. The results indicate that majority of the accident victims were in the age group of 35-50 and their education level was generally matriculation or lower, the majority of accident victims were laborers who did not have adequate training. People working in rural industries and the users of agricultural machinery must pocess the necessary training and education to keep themselves and the output safe. There is a need for strict implementation of safety standards.
