Abstract

A comparative field evaluation of powered harrow plough, disc harrow, rotavator and disc harrow combined with clod crusher for seedbed preparation of wheat after paddy was conducted. Rotavator required the minimum time for the operation. However, the fuel consumption was minimum for powered harrow plough. The use of different combination of implements for seedbed preparation had no effect on wheat yield. The combination of powered harrow plough and disc harrow with clod crusher was observed to be the best in terms of net returns.
