India has one of the largest concentration of tribal population in the world. Tribal population constitutes about 8 per cent of country's population with agriculture as their main occupation. It is an established fact that the tribal agriculture is mostly subsistence in nature and the tribal economy is mainly based on agriculture and Minor Forest Produce. In most of the tribal areas the adoption or spread of the new technology is seen to a very limited scale. The pace and _content of new technologies being adopted by the tribals is very slow and inadequate as due to their habitation in the remote areas of hills and in the forest
