Abstract

There is not much information in the literature about the Lunartail pufferfish (Lagocphalus lunaris) eye deformity. The occurrence of deformities in fishes is not uncommon but abnormality documented in the study seems to be rare and is probably described first time in this species and this could be the first occurrence from the Mumbai coastal waters. Lagocephalus lunaris (Bloch and Schneider, 1801) single male specimen (total length: 10.291 cm; standard length: 8.953 cm; total weight: 25.3g) was collected during research.
