Abstract

The length-weight relationship of Trichogaster lalia and T. labiosa was studied from the different floodplain beels of Brahmaputra basin during 2010 to 2011. The pattern of growth (allometric) was verified from the value of ‘b’ in the equation, mean b value was 2.764 for male and 2.544 for female Trichogaster lalia whereas mean b value was 1.008 for male and 1.042 for female T. labiosa. The highest monthly condition factor value (25.98) for female and (25.634) for male T. lalia was recorded in monsoon and post-monsoon season respectively. In case of T. labiosa, the highest monthly condition factor value (25.177) for female (23.295) for male was recorded in winter.
