Abstract

The gut content of Nemipterus japonicus (Bloch) revealed that this
fish is a carnivorous bottom feeder, feeding mainly on crustaceans,
fishes, salps and polychaetes, with marginal variations in females. The
intensity of feeding increased with the advancement of maturity till
stage V except in stage III where the intensity of feeding indicated a
decrease.
