Cultural and biochemical variability amongst indigenous Ganoderma lucidum isolates from Uttarakhand
155 / 33
Abstract
Ganoderma lucidum (G-1, G-2 and G-3) isolated from different altitudes in Uttarakhand, India were studied for their cultural and biochemical variability. The data revealed that all the isolates  preferred acidic pH (5.0-6.0), 25-30 C temperature and malt extract agar medium for their growth. The total soluble sugars and non reducing sugars content varied from 14.58 – 14.88 and 14.55- 14.85%, respectively. However, protein content varied 16.02- 25.86% and differs significantly among wild and their cultivated isolates.
