Molecular characterization of bacterial isolates causing brown blotch of cultivated mushrooms
107 / 29
Abstract
The polymerase chain reaction was used to amplify 16S ribosomal DNA from blotch causing bacteria isolated from five cultivated mushrooms. The bacteria were identified as Pseudomonas tolaasii and P. reactans. PCR-Â amplified 16S rDNA was analyzed on the basis of nucleotide sequence . Genetic diversity among the isolates was studied using arbitrary RAPD primers. All the fourteen isolates were categorized into five groups showing 53 per cent similarity.
