DNA FINGERPRINTING OF ADVANCED GENERATION POTATO HYBRIDS FOR DIVERSITY ANALSYSIS AND PROTECTION
160 / 106
Abstract
Twenty-two advanced potato hybrids along with two clones of a parental line were charactenzed using RAPD markers to have fingerprint database and to assess diversity Within the polato lines. Fifteen random decamer primers generated 131 fragments With 87% fragment polymorphism Agglomerahve clustering on the dendrogram reflected limited kinship Pair wise similarity values revealed moderate genetic vanabihty among the 22 advanced lines due to common parentage, The need for imparting more genetic divergence through selection of diverse parent combmahons has been stressed upon.Downloads
