COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF POTATO DIGGER ELEVATOR WITH CONVENTIONAL METHOD OF HARVESTING AT FARMER'S FIELDS

Abstract
A tractor mounted two-row potato digger elevator was tested for its performance at varlous locations in farmers' field during 2000-02. The results of the study indicated that the actual field capacity was 0.50,0021, 0 25 and 0021 ha/h in tractor mounted potaio dIgger elevator, manual digging by Khurpa, tractor drawn cultivator and bullock drawn desi plough respectively in second pass The labour requrement in different treatments showed a saving of 1280 man-hours per hectare in case of machme as compared to manual harvesting. The lowest tuber damage was recorded (0.8%).In potato digger-elevator as compared to other methods.Downloads
