A STUDY ON INNOVATIVE FARMERS NETWORK (IFN) FOR TRANSFER OF COTTON (Gossypium spp) PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES IN TELANGANA STATE

Abstract
In an agrarian economy like India, farmers play a major role in agricultural production. In India, more than 65 per cent of the people depend on agriculture to earn their livelihood. In order to augment agriculture and to help the farmers, many policies were evolved over years and they get reflected in the successive Five Year Plans. However, the small and marginal farmers and the landless agricultural labour have been facing problems due to significant changes in production system. A farmer is always under stress and has to struggle for inputs, resources, credit and
market support price. In sense, farmers and agriculture always continue to be in the grip of crisis.
