Maize is the third most important food cropÂ next to rice and wheat and is not only grown for foodÂ and fodder but also for several industrial usage andÂ acquired dominant role in the farming sector and macroeconomy
of the Asian region (Mauria et al., 1998).Â Water and fertilizers are important production factorsÂ for improving maize production and drip fertigationÂ assures an effective and economical way to supplyÂ water and nutrients for the crops. Biofertilizers canÂ partially replace chemical fertilizers. Biofertilizers areÂ gaining importance as they are ecofriendly, nonhazardousÂ and non-toxic products. The biofertigation,Â that is application of liquid biofertilizers or microbialÂ consortium along with drip irrigation can precisely deliverÂ the bioinoculants in the root zone. The present studyÂ was planned to evaluate the performance ofÂ biofertigation under field condition along with fertigationÂ of inorganic fertilizers on rabi maize.
