Abstract

Present investigation was carried at the Research Farm, SKUAST- J, Chatha during Kharif 2017, 2018 & 2019. Heritability estimates varied from 93.08 harvest index 99.85 test weights. Number of per cluster showed highest GCV. High to moderately high heritability were observed for all the characters. A study of variability, Heritability, genetic advance, correlation and path analysis revealed that all the genotypes were significantly different. A wide range of variation was noticed in almost all the traits. In general phenotypic coefficient of variation was found higher than the genotypic coefficient of variation for all the traits indicating the influencing of environment. High estimate of heritability along with genetic advance in percent of mean were recorded for test, weight, harvest index and number of pods per cluster. Correlation and path analysis showed that grain yield per plant, biological yield and harvest index emerged as reliable components that can serve as a selection oriteran breeding high genotypes of Urdbean.
