Abstract

The present investigation to study the efficacy of different acaricides for the management of sterility mosaic disease in pigeonpea disclosed that spraying of fenazaquin 10% EC @ 2.50 ml/l at 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 DAS recorded lowest disease incidence of 7.37, 7.90, 8.49, 9.74 and 10.81 per cent respectively, with 88.45 per cent disease reduction over control followed by seed treatment with imidacloprid 70% WS @ 5g/kg seed + propargite 57% EC @ 1.50 ml/l which recorded 13.42, 15.31, 17.57, 19.79, 24.9 per cent disease incidence at 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 DAS respectively, with 73.39 per cent reduction over control. The highest disease incidence was recorded in untreated plot with 61.09, 70.59, 79.35, 86.52 and 93.62 per cent at 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 DAS, respectively. Maximum yield per hectare was obtained by fenazaquin 10% EC @ 2.50 ml/l (11.13 q/ha) followed by seed treatment with imidacloprid 70% WS @ 5g/kg seed + propargite 57% EC @ 1.50 ml/l (10.25 q/ha). Spraying of fenazaquin 10% EC @ 2.50 ml/l at 45, 60, 75 DAS recorded lowest mean number of mite population of 0.16, 0.09, 0.05 followed by seed treatment with imidacloprid 70% WS @ 5g/kg seed + propargite 57% EC @ 1.50 ml/l with 0.33, 0.25, 0.21 mean mite population and highest mean number of mite population of 2.26, 2.11, 2.02 was recorded in untreated plot.
